Professional Development Resources
Based on an assessment of each member's goals BXKC will create a measurable timeline of the member's career path. Our resource partners and trusted members of Black Excellence will provide tools, events, and resources to aid our members in their career development.
The #RepresentationMatters campaign is such a great way for Black Excellence to showcase black professionals making history in real-time. We pride ourselves on projecting the best images of our community to break stereotypes and the narrative of what excellence looks like in our culture. Each week we feature an industry professional of color to give insight on their journey and hopefully encourage you as you walk your path. Check out a few of our features below!
BXKC utilizes the Agile Work Profiler© tool to help our member help you discover their work strengths AND interests, and how these “Agilities” can apply to many different careers
Once your Agilities identities are identified, we use the interactive Career Explorer Tools to learn about the income, preparation, work activities, and demand for each career.
BXKC has partnered with KC Scholar to bring awareness to their Adult Learner Scholarship.
If you have completed some college and are looking to finish your degree, this scholarship is for you. We will provide education on how to apply and provide support in the adjustment of being an Adult Learner
Skilled KC programs are taught in short bursts so you can immediately put your new skills to use until you’re ready to learn more. Learn. Earn. Do it again. Skilled KC currently provides programing for Advance Manufacturing, Software Development, and Biotechnology
